We are very excited to share with you all that GFWC has a National Day of Service coming up at the end of September - so save the date and don’t forget to register!
GFWC National Day of Service (NDS)
Bring: $5.00 for lunch & food or monetary donations for Kings Mtn. Crisis Ministry
The inaugural GFWC National Day of Service (NDS) is shaping up to be a momentous success! More than 650 GFWC clubs have pledged to participate. This means GFWC’s reach into local communities will help many families in need!
District III has planned a fun day to celebrate both the National Day of Service AND our GFWC-NC President’s Special Project, the Mountains to Sea Trail.
Please join us! We will meet as a group at the Gateway Trail in Kings Mountain, NC. Judy Ford, local master gardener, educator, and Gateway Trail board member, will lead us on an exploration of this beautiful site. This hike is for all. You can do as much or as little as you wish.
We will have lunch at the shelter after the hike. Just bring $5. Reservations are required by September 20th, so please respond so we have a headcount by September 20, 2023.
Join us for a morning of fun and volunteerism at Riversweep on Saturday, October 7th from 9-12pm. This event is in support of our September meeting guest speaker, the Catawba Riverkeepers.
Riversweep is the largest cleanup in the southeast across our river basin at over 60 sites where around 2,000 volunteers will pull out over 55,000 lbs. of trash from in and around our waterways.
The Charlotte Woman’s Club and Junior Woman’s Club of Charlotte will help clean up the Huntersville location.
Meet us at Mountain Island Lake at the Latta Nature Preserve – Bring your own watercraft (kayak, canoe, SUP) or participate on land!
Inclusion of family members is welcomed. Please note how many will be in attendance from your household and designate if you will be water or land.
Looking forward to cleaning up the waters in our own backyard with you!
