The Charlotte Woman's Club is honored to provide a grant to Classroom Central and their Backpack program.

It's time to see "the power of a backpack!"

We have been invited to join Classroom Central for this year's Backpack & Basics distribution.

With our support, they will be providing backpacks with school supplies to 11,943 students of the highest poverty elementary schools in Charlotte – those schools where 100% of the students are considered at-risk (homeless, receiving free/reduced priced lunches and in foster care). It’s now time for you to see our investment at work!

A highlight of sponsoring the Backpacks & Basics program is the opportunity to personally deliver backpacks to the schools and to learn firsthand the “power of a backpack!” This year we will be distributing backpacks to each student during an all-school assembly. We will then visit 1-2 classrooms where you will have the opportunity to talk to the students about their school year.

Please arrive between 9:00am - 9:15am. The assembly will begin at 9:30am and we should be done by 11:00am.

Please note: * We may bring up to 5 people to participate. *

Dress comfortably! They may need your help to set up the backpacks and we will be standing and walking most of the time. You are welcome to wear clothing that identifies you as a member of the Charlotte Woman's Club.

* You will be required to show photo ID to enter the school.
